Ingredients:
- 1 pound (454g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch thick strips
- 1/2 cup (57g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) black pepper
- Pinch of salt (optional, to taste)
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup (100g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup (50g) panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil spray
Instructions:
- Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch thick strips. Pat dry with paper towels.
- Combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, pepper, and salt (if using) in a bowl.
- Place lightly beaten eggs in a separate bowl.
- Combine Parmesan cheese and panko breadcrumbs in another bowl.
- Dredge each chicken strip in flour mixture, then dip in egg, then coat evenly with the Parmesan-panko mixture. Press gently to adhere.
- Preheat your air fryer (if your model requires it). Arrange breaded chicken strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with olive oil spray.
- Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 6-8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the chicken tenders rest for a few minutes before serving.
