Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) fresh string beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon (1g) salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon (1g) black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) breadcrumbs (optional for extra crunch)
  • Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Rinse the string beans under cold water and trim the ends.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Add string beans to the bowl and toss until well coated with the oil mixture.
  5. Spread string beans evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (if using).
  6. In a small bowl, mix Parmesan, breadcrumbs (if using), and lemon zest. Sprinkle over the string beans.
  7. Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until string beans are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool briefly before serving.
