Ingredients:
- 4 medium russet potatoes (about 1.5 lbs or 680g)
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
- 1 teaspoon (5g) salt
- 1 teaspoon (5g) garlic powder (optional)
- ½ teaspoon (2g) paprika (optional)
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Wash and peel (if desired) the russet potatoes. Cut into evenly-sized fries, about ¼-inch thick.
- Place the cut fries in a large bowl of cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry thoroughly with a clean towel.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the dried fries with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Add the fries to the air fryer basket in a single layer (not overcrowding). Cook for 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Continue cooking until golden brown (another 5-10 minutes if needed).
- Remove the fries and let cool for a few minutes. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.
