Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 oz / 425 g) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Drain, rinse, and dry the chickpeas using paper towels until completely dry.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the dried chickpeas, olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, ground cumin, salt, and pepper. Toss well to coat.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place the seasoned chickpeas in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are in a single layer.
  5. Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking, until they are golden and crispy.
  6. After cooking, quickly toss the chickpeas with honey or maple syrup and cinnamon for a sweet twist (if desired).
  7. Remove from the air fryer and allow to cool slightly. Serve warm or at room temperature.
