Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • milk or water (as needed for consistency)

Instructions:

  1. Combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, and Dijon mustard into a mason jar, leaving enough headspace at the top for agitation.
  2. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the jar.
  3. Tighten the lid securely and shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds until the dressing is a uniform, pale ivory color.
  4. Check the consistency. If it's too thick, add milk or water one tablespoon at a time.
  5. Shake briefly after each addition of milk.
  6. Continue adjusting until the dressing reaches a smooth, velvety flow.
  7. Taste a small amount with a leaf of lettuce.
  8. Add an extra pinch of salt or a drop more vinegar if you want more zing.
  9. Seal the jar and give it one final 5 second shake.
