Ingredients:
- 4 cups (950 ml) Water
- 1 teaspoon (6g) Salt
- 1 cup (170g) Coarse Ground Polenta/Cornmeal (Not instant!)
- 2 tablespoons (28g) Unsalted Butter
- 1/4 cup (30g) Grated Parmesan Cheese (Optional)
Instructions:
- In a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan, bring the water and salt to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
- Gradually whisk in the polenta in a slow, steady stream, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
- Reduce heat to low. Cook, stirring frequently to prevent sticking, for 30-40 minutes, or until the polenta is thick and creamy.
- Remove from heat. Stir in the butter and Parmesan cheese (if using) until melted and well combined.
- Serve hot, garnished as desired.
