Ingredients:
- 1 ripe avocado (approx. 200g)
- 1 medium banana, frozen (about 120g)
- 1 cup (240ml) unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- Juice of 1 lime (about 30ml)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt (optional)
- Ice cubes (about 1 cup, optional for a chilled smoothie)
Instructions:
- Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into the blender.
- Peel the banana if fresh; if using frozen, break it into chunks.
- Juice the lime.
- In the blender, combine avocado, banana, almond milk, honey or maple syrup, lime juice, vanilla extract, and salt (if using).
- Add ice cubes for a chilled smoothie.
- Blend on high speed until the mixture is creamy and smooth. Stop to scrape down the sides if necessary.
- Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness with honey/maple syrup if desired or add more lime juice for acidity.
- Pour the smoothie into glasses and enjoy immediately!
