Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe avocado (approx. 200g)
  • 1 medium banana, frozen (about 120g)
  • 1 cup (240ml) unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Juice of 1 lime (about 30ml)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt (optional)
  • Ice cubes (about 1 cup, optional for a chilled smoothie)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into the blender.
  2. Peel the banana if fresh; if using frozen, break it into chunks.
  3. Juice the lime.
  4. In the blender, combine avocado, banana, almond milk, honey or maple syrup, lime juice, vanilla extract, and salt (if using).
  5. Add ice cubes for a chilled smoothie.
  6. Blend on high speed until the mixture is creamy and smooth. Stop to scrape down the sides if necessary.
  7. Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness with honey/maple syrup if desired or add more lime juice for acidity.
  8. Pour the smoothie into glasses and enjoy immediately!
