Ingredients:

  • 1cup warm water
  • 2.25tsp active dry yeast
  • 2tbsp raw honey
  • 3tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3.25cups bread flour
  • 1.5tsp fine sea salt
  • 3tbsp grass-fed butter, melted
  • 1tsp garlic salt
  • 0.5tsp dried oregano

Instructions:

  1. Whisk warm water, honey, and yeast in a mixer bowl. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add olive oil, sea salt, and 2 cups of flour. Using a dough hook, mix on low.
  3. Gradually add the remaining flour (up to 3.5 cups) until the dough clears the sides of the bowl and is slightly tacky but not sticky.
  4. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Roll each into a 7-inch log and place on parchment-lined baking sheets. Cover and rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place a shallow pan of water on the bottom rack to create steam.
  7. Bake breadsticks for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  8. Whisk melted grass-fed butter, garlic salt, and dried oregano. Brush generously over warm breadsticks immediately after baking.
