Ingredients:
- 1cup warm water
- 2.25tsp active dry yeast
- 2tbsp raw honey
- 3tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 3.25cups bread flour
- 1.5tsp fine sea salt
- 3tbsp grass-fed butter, melted
- 1tsp garlic salt
- 0.5tsp dried oregano
Instructions:
- Whisk warm water, honey, and yeast in a mixer bowl. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add olive oil, sea salt, and 2 cups of flour. Using a dough hook, mix on low.
- Gradually add the remaining flour (up to 3.5 cups) until the dough clears the sides of the bowl and is slightly tacky but not sticky.
- Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Roll each into a 7-inch log and place on parchment-lined baking sheets. Cover and rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place a shallow pan of water on the bottom rack to create steam.
- Bake breadsticks for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
- Whisk melted grass-fed butter, garlic salt, and dried oregano. Brush generously over warm breadsticks immediately after baking.
