Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh string beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 1 cup French-fried onions
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Blanch the string beans for 4-5 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth.
- Stir in the blanched string beans and cheese (if using). Ensure the beans are evenly coated with the sauce.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Sprinkle the French-fried onions evenly on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
