Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh string beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1 cup French-fried onions

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Blanch the string beans for 4-5 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth.
  4. Stir in the blanched string beans and cheese (if using). Ensure the beans are evenly coated with the sauce.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the French-fried onions evenly on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
