Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp instant yeast
- 3/4 cup (180ml) warm water
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup (240ml) canned crushed tomatoes
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups (150g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves
- Optional: pepperoni slices, bell peppers, onions, or any toppings desired
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast.
- Gradually mix in warm water and olive oil until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place in an oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let rest for 30 minutes.
- In a saucepan, sauté minced garlic in olive oil until fragrant.
- Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough into desired thickness on a floured surface.
- Transfer to a baking sheet or preheated pizza stone.
- Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and desired toppings.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil.
