Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup (180ml) warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup (240ml) canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups (150g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Optional: pepperoni slices, bell peppers, onions, or any toppings desired

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast.
  2. Gradually mix in warm water and olive oil until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place in an oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let rest for 30 minutes.
  5. In a saucepan, sauté minced garlic in olive oil until fragrant.
  6. Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  8. Roll out the dough into desired thickness on a floured surface.
  9. Transfer to a baking sheet or preheated pizza stone.
  10. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough.
  11. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and desired toppings.
  12. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  13. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil.
