Ingredients:

  • 3 fl oz (90 ml) Irish Whiskey
  • 3 fl oz (90 ml) Peach Schnapps
  • 5 fl oz (45 ml) Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 5 fl oz (15 ml) Simple Syrup (optional)
  • Ice (cubed, as needed for chilling)
  • 4 pieces Lemon Wedges or Lime Zest (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Chill the Glassware: Place the four shot glasses in the freezer or fill them with ice water while preparing the cocktail mix. This ensures maximum chill upon serving.
  2. Gather Ingredients: Ensure all liquids are ready and the lemon juice has been freshly squeezed.
  3. Combine Liquids: Pour the Irish whiskey, peach schnapps, lemon juice, and simple syrup (if using) directly into the cocktail shaker tin.
  4. Add Ice: Fill the shaker 2/3 full with fresh, solid ice cubes. Using too little ice results in a watery, poorly chilled shot.
  5. Seal and Shake: Secure the lid tightly. Shake the mixture vigorously for 20 to 30 seconds until a visible layer of frost appears on the outside of the shaker tin.
  6. Discard Chill Water: Empty the chilled shot glasses of any water or ice.
  7. Strain and Serve: Double strain the mixture evenly into the four prepared shot glasses.
  8. Garnish: If using, briefly rub the rim of each glass with a small lemon wedge before dropping it into the glass, or serve the zest twist alongside. Serve immediately.
