  • ½ cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon (3g) baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon (1.5g) salt
  • 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  3. In a mixing bowl, cream softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 1-2 minutes).
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  8. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden and centers are soft.
  10. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
