Ingredients:
- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) pure vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon (3g) baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon (1.5g) salt
- 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 1-2 minutes).
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden and centers are soft.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
