Ingredients:
- 4 cups (480g) all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup (67g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 cup (240ml) warm milk (about 110°F/43°C)
- 1/4 cup (60ml) pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup (56g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter, melted (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) honey (optional, for brushing)
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk, pineapple juice, and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit until frothy (about 5-10 minutes).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Create a well and add melted butter, eggs, and the activated yeast mixture. Mix until combined, then knead dough until smooth and elastic (about 5-7 minutes).
- Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a towel and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and arrange in a greased baking pan.
- Cover the dough balls with a towel and let them rise again until puffy (about 30 minutes).
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brush the rolls with melted butter and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown on top.
- Optional: Brush with honey for a glossy finish. Let cool slightly before serving.
