Ingredients:
- 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon (12g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5g) salt
- 2 teaspoons (7g) instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon (2g) activated charcoal powder
- 1 cup (240ml) warm water (around 110°F/43°C)
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, yeast, and activated charcoal powder until well blended.
- In a separate bowl, combine warm water, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover the loaf and let it rise for another 30 minutes until puffy.
- While the loaf rises, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the bread for 30 minutes or until golden brown; check for doneness by tapping on the bottom—it should sound hollow.
- Remove from the oven, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
