Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk (preferably whole or 2%)
  • 1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup (100g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs (e.g., oregano, basil)
  • Extra melted butter for brushing (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, and egg until smooth.
  4. Gradually incorporate the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  5. Fold in the mozzarella cheese until mixed.
  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (or lightly grease it).
  7. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and use a rolling pin to roll it into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  8. Use a pizza cutter or knife to slice the dough into strips (about 1 inch wide).
  9. Brush the top with melted butter (if using), then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and dried herbs.
  10. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dip.
