I Could Eat This Every Week!

There are so many days when i find myself super busy with the hustle and bustle of life that I forget all about making dinner. There are also those days where I know I’m going to be busy and I need to get something started in the morning as I won’t have time to make a meal later on in the day. That’s when recipes like these come in handy.
Dump and bake meatball casserole is just that. You dump all 5 ingredients into the slow cooker, set it, and forget it! Does it really get any better than that? Nope, not really. Enjoy this amazing meal!

Do you like meatball sub sandwiches? If so, you are going to go crazy over this super easy-to-make casserole. I’m tellin’ ya what, son, this stuff is loaded with flavor! I can’t believe I went 35 years without ever making this dish of yumminess. My family was crazy for this meal as well. My husband told me that he hopes I make it again soon and trust me, I fully intend, too. Enjoy!

Check out what my husband had to say about this recipe:

1/3 cup chopped green onion
1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
3 Tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 lb ground beef
1 loaf Italian bread cut into 1 inch slices
8 ounces cream cheese softened
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided
1 (28 ounce) jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce
1 cup water
2 garlic cloves minced

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. In a bowl, combine onions, bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  3. Add beef and mix well.
  4. Shape into 1-inch balls; place on a cookie sheet.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until no longer pink. (Or fry in a skillet on medium heat).
  6. Reduce oven temperature to 350.
  7. Meanwhile, arrange bread in a single layer in an ungreased 13×9 baking dish. (All of the bread might not be used.).
  8. Combine cream cheese, mayo, Italian seasoning and pepper; spread over the bread. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzarella.
  9. Combine sauce, water and garlic; add meatballs.
  10. Pour over cheese mixture; sprinkle with remaining mozzarella.
  11. Bake, uncovered at 350 for 30 minutes or until done.
